Apple hat dem iPhone Unlock via Gevey SIM mit dem Bereitstellen des aktuellen iOS 5 beta 2 Downloads einen Riegel vorgeschoben. Mit der aktuellen iOS 5 beta 2 soll demnach kein iPhone 4 Unlock mehr möglich sein! Wer also auf einen iPhone Unlock angewiesen ist, dem sei dringend vom Update auf iOS 5 beta 2 abgeraten!
iPhone Unlocker können also ab jetzt nur hoffen, dass bis zu finalen iOS 5 Version die Jungs von Gevey einen Weg gefunden haben um den iPhone 4 Unlock auch unter iOS 5 weiterhin zu realisieren.
Per Twitter hat Musclenerd übrigens auf den Angriff Apples auf die Gevey SIM Unlock Front aufmerksam gemacht:

Für einen iPhone 4 Unlock unter iOS 5 gibts prinzipiell mehrere Möglichkeiten
- iPhone Unlock via IMEI-Freischaltung: Leider gibts diesen Service nicht mehr!
- iPhone Unlock via Gevey SIM: hier bleibt zu hoffen, dass bis zum iOS 5 Release ein Ausweg gefunden wurde
- iPhone Unlock via Ultrasn0w: hier hoffen wir (immernoch) auf eine positive Botschaft von @musclenerd und @sherif_hashim zum Software Unlock
Leider gibt Musclenerd recht wenig Informationen über den aktuellen Stand beim Thema Software Unlock via Ultrasn0w für neuere iPhone 4 Basebands:
