Eine lebenslange Jailbreak Garantie wie zuletzt mit Limera1n beim Apple iPhone 4 & 3GS , iPad 1 und iPod touch 4G wird es wohl so schnell nicht geben. @musclenerd hat sich nun auch mit der iPad 2 Jailbreak Problematik auseinandergesetzt – und Apple hat mit dem A5 Prozessor im iPad 2 (und vermutlich auch iPhone 5) gute Vorarbeit gegen einen Bootrom Jailbreak von iPad 2 & iPhone 5 geleistet.
Wie @musclenerd per Twitter verlauten lässt ist steht einiges einem Jailbreak for Life für das iPad 2 per Bootrom Exploit im Weg.

Probleme beim der Suche eines Bootrom Jailbreaks für das iPad 2 macht also die Architektur des Apple A5 Prozessors. Zur Klärung:
- BootROM Exploits ermöglichen auf den Jailbreak Hardware-Basis und können von Apple NICHT per iOS Update beseitigt werden
- Userland Exploits sind in im iOS selbst zu finden – mit einem iOS Update kann Apple die Lücke schließen und den Jailbreak verhindern
Hoffen wir, dass die Suche nach einem iPad 2 Jailbreak auf Bootrom-Basis durch p0sixninja von Erfolg gekrönt wird. Alternativ wäre aber auch ein Userland Jailbreak des iPad 2 besser als gar nichts – wir dürfen also gespannt bleiben!
