Das leidige Thema iPhone Unlock: Per Software Unlock sind nur iPhones mit geeigneten Basebands per Ultrasn0w zu unlocken. Das heißt, viele Unlocker sitzen auf ihrem Baseband fest und warten auf das Ultrasn0w Update in der Hoffnung, dass das iPhone wieder mehr als ein teurer iPod ist.
Der iPhone Unlock Guru @Sherif_Hashim – neben der Berufung als iPhone Hacker auch als Neurochirurg tätig – ist zwar immer noch auf der Suche nach dem iPhone Unlock für neuere Basebands, ist allerdings in beruflicher Zeitnot.
Als Lösung für einen Unlock schlägt dieser nun selbst den iPhone Unlock per Gevey SIM vor:

Wer also aktuell auf einen iPhone Unlock angewiesen ist und kein Baseband sein Eigen nennt, das auf der iPhone Unlock Liste mit Ultrasn0w funktioniert, dem schlägt @sherif_hashim hier eindeutig die Nutzung einer Gevey SIM vor.
In absehbarer Zeit sieht es also nicht nach einer Veröffentlichung einer „neuen“ Unlock-Lösung per Ultrasn0w aus. Wir sind aber dennoch gespannt und drücken den iPhone Unlock Hackern ganz fest die Daumen.
