Das Apple iPad 3 kommt! Zwar erst Anfang 2012 – dann aber mit Retina Display. Soll heißen: 2048 x 1536 Pixel auf 9,7 Zoll sollen uns nächstes Jahr ein iPad 3 mit gestochen scharfem Bildschirm präsentieren.
Laut Wall Street Journal wurden bereits Bauteile für das iPad 3 hergestellt. Im vierten Quartal 2011 wird die Produktion hochgefahren um Anfang 2012 dann das iPad 3 flächendeckend auf den Markt zu werfen.
The next generation iPad is expected to feature a high resolution display – 2048 by 1536 compared with 1024 by 768 in the iPad 2 – and Apple’s suppliers have already shipped small quantities of components for the sampling of the iPad 3. „Suppliers will ramp up production and try to improve the yield rate for the new iPad in the fourth quarter before its official launch in early 2012,“ said a person at the supplier.
9to5mac sieht diese Meldung mit den bisherigen Erkenntnissen zum iPad 3 im Einklang. Vor allem die hochauflösenden Retina Displays fürs iPad 3 sollen aktuell nicht in der geforderten Stückzahl herzustellen sein. Allerdings befänden sich bereits Retina Screens fürs iPad 3 von LG und Samsung auf dem Apple Prüfstand.
