Let’s talk AppleTV Jailbreak! Nachdem alle iPhone, iPad und iPod touch dank Evasi0n jetzt von den Fesseln befreit wurden bleibt die Frage nach einem Jailbreak fürs AppleTV. Während es immer noch etwas düster bei einem AppleTV 3 Jailbreak aussieht, besteht für Windows User bereits die Möglichkeit des AppleTV 2 Jailbreak mit Sn0wbreeze! Auch das firecore Team arbeitet an einer Umsetzung des Evasi0n Jailbreaks für das AppleTV 2 in den bekannten AppleTV Tools Seas0npass sowie dem wohl bekanntesten Paket aTV Flash black!
In einem Support-Thread nimmt das firecore Team Stellung zum aktuellen iOS 6.1 bzw. iOS 5.2 AppleTV Jailbreak Status:
Hey all, we’re hard at work on an updated version of Seas0nPass that takes advantage of the Evasi0n jailbreak and plan to have this available soon. Please keep in mind that while the FireCore plugins will work on Apple TV 5.1, a few minor adjustments (which are currently in progress) are needed to ensure things continue to run smoothly on Apple TV 5.2.
Kurzum – seas0npass wird in Kürze komplett iOS 5.2 kompatibel und bereit für den Einsatz! Allerdings sollte man sich nicht allzu große Hoffnung machen, wenn man Plex und XBMC unter iOS 6.2 nutzen möchte. Hier werden wohl noch einige Tage mehr ins Land ziehen, bis Plex und XBMC komplett iOS 5.2 kompatibel sind.
Things like Plex and XBMC do not yet work on Apple TV 5.1 and later, and will likely require A LOT of work by their respective developers in order to be compatible.
Wie bereits oben erwähnt bietet die Windows Jailbreak Software Sn0wbreeze von iH8sn0w seit Version Sn0wbreeze v2.9.8 die Möglichkeit eines AppleTV 2 Jailbreaks.
