In einem Profil über Spotify-Gründer Daniel Ek hat sich Apple-CEO Tim Cook auf Nachfrage zu Wort gemeldet und sich über das Musik-Business geäußert. Hierbei scheint Cook auch Kritik an Spotify, in Form von fehlender Menschlichkeit, geübt zu haben (via Fast Company):
Cook’s words embody Apple’s longstanding critique of Spotify, which is that its algorithms are eroding music’s spiritual role in our lives. Cook doesn’t mention Spotify by name but says, „We worry about the humanity being drained out of music, about it becoming a bits-and-bytes kind of world instead of the art and craft.“

Für Tim Cook steht auch der menschliche Aspekt im Interesse, was er nicht bei allen Konkurrenten auch so zu erkennen scheint. Ob und wie man bei Spotify auf diese Aussage reagieren wird, ist bisher noch nicht bekannt.
