Das Apple iPhone XS Max, das iPhone XS und das iPhone XR stehen vor allem aufgrund der relativ hohen Preise in der Kritik. Eine Frage nach den Preisen hat sich auch Apple-CEO Tim Cook im Rahmen eines Interviews mit Good Morning America (einer US-TV-Show) stellen müssen.

Apple iPhone XS Max & Co.: Hohe Preise als Kritik

Zunächst einmal ließ Cook wissen, dass die meisten Kunden ohnehin eine Finanzierung über ihre Mobilfunkanbieter wählen würden, also die über 1.000 US-Dollar gar nicht bar zahlen müssten. Darüber hinaus gab Cook an, dass sich die Kunden innovative Geräte wünschen, die eben nicht günstig seien (via Macrumors):

„The way most people pay for these…they do a deal with a carrier and they pay so much per month, so if you look at even the phone that’s priced over $1,000, most people pay $30 a month for it, so that’s about $1 a day. And so if you look at it, the phone has replaced your digital camera…it’s replaced your video camera, it’s replaced your music player, it’s replaced all of these different devices. And so arguably the product is really important and we found people want to have the most innovative product available, and…it’s not cheap to do that.“

Apple-CEO Tim Cook sieht Innovation als nicht günstig

Dass innovative Features und Neuerungen nicht günstig sind, ist durchaus ein Argument. Andererseits wurde Apple zuletzt auch öfter vorgeworfen, kaum mehr Innovationen zu bieten. Letztlich dürfte Apple auch trotz der hohen Preise mit den neuen iPhones erfolgreich sein.
