Grün ist die Hoffnung – und alle hoffen auf den iOS 4.1 Jailbreak mithilfe von Greenpois0n. Gestern dann der Schreckenstweet: @pod2g, der Entdecker des SHAtter Bootrom Exploits, verlässt das Chronic Dev-Team und will eigenständig arbeiten. Ist dies das Ende des SHAtter Greenpois0n iOS 4.1 Jailbreak für iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS & 3G, iPad & iPod touch?
Die Auswirkungen auf einen iOS 4.1 Jailbreak dürften eher gering sein. pod2g hat sich selbst als „Exploit Maker“ und nicht als „Jailbreak Tool Developer“ bezeichnet. Für uns, die auf den iOS 4.1 Jailbreak warten, habe dies aber keine Auswirkungen – pod2g hat den SHAtter Exploit sowohl ans Chronic Dev-Team als auch iPhone Dev-Team weitergegeben. Beide Jailbreak Entwickler Teams können also an einer iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Lösung für iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS & 3G, iPad & iPod touch durch den SHAtter Bootrom Exploit weiterarbeiten.
Nach dem Durcheinander durch die Meldung zum Ausstieg von pod2g aus dem Chronic Dev-Team hat sich dieses jetzt auf dem Team-Blog mit einem (wenig zufriedenstellenden) Statement geäußert:
This post is to clear up some confusion that seems to be in the comments of the other post in regards to pod2g’s departure. Development on the jailbreak for iOS 4.1 will still continue as planned, and is still in progress. This internal team change will not affect the end user in any way at all. Thank you for the concern, and your ongoing patience is appreciated.
Also weiter auf den iOS 4.1 Jailbreak warten – doch erfreulich zu hören, dass bei der Jailbreak Entwicklung für iOS 4.1 jetzt auch das iPhone Dev-Team die Finger im Spiel hat. Wer uns den iOS 4.1 Jailbreak serviert ist ja eigentlich egal – nur kommen muss er ;)
