Vor einiger Zeit haben wir den ipswDownloader für Windows vorgestellt. Wer passende iOS Firmware für iPhone, iPad oder iPod touch sucht, dem kann mit diesem Programm geholfen werden. Ab sofort heißt ipswDownloader nun openIPSW, ist Open Source – und bringt viele neue Features und Funktionen mit!
openIPSW, das neue Baby des Entwicklers Ryan Burke, ermöglicht den Download der passenden IPSW Firmware Files unter Windows per Applikation. openIPSW bleibt weiterhin kostenlos und zeigt schon vor dem Download der Firmware die Möglichkeiten von Unlock und Jailbreak an. Weiterhin wird Euch die Downloadgröße gleich mit angezeigt.
In seiner Email hat der Entwickler uns die Namensänderung erklärt: Die Anwendung ist ab sofort Open Source – daher bietet sich der Name openIPSW einfach an. Wir begrüßen diesen Schritt zu openIPSW und freuen uns auch in Zukunft über neue Features.
Das Changelog liest sich wie folgt:
- Program grabs all data from server rather than local.
- Program will update itself when a new version is available.
- Merged the Download and Cancel button into one single super button.
- Added jailbreak tools and links to download them. (Just click on the name)
- Added unlock tools and links to download them. (Just click on the name)
- Added the size of the IPSW file before you download it Added a menu bar at the top for links to twitter, check for update and exit program Added notifications in the task bar while downloading (Thanks zmaster)
- For Windows 7 users we have also added the progress bar in the task bar icon.
- Made it installer based so that we can include vital .dll files.
Für Jailbreak Freaks mit Windows PC gehört openIPSW also ab sofort zur Grundausstattung.
