iPhone & iPad wird Spielekonsole: PlayStation PS3 Controller als iOS 7 Gamepad nutzen!

iPad und iPhone Gamepad Steuerung ist seit der iOS 7 Einführung möglich, allerdings sind entsprechende iPhone Controller wie der Apple MFI zertifizierte Logitech Powershell Controller zum Spielen auf dem iPhone mit 99 Euro doch recht teuer. Mit dem iOS 7 Jailbreak Tweak „Controllers for All“ könnt ihr Euer iPhone ab sofort mit einem Sony PlayStation 3 / PS3 DualShock 3 Wireless Controller steuern, der einerseits der Playstation 3 beiliegt, andererseits deutlich günstiger im Handel erhältlich ist.

Der iOS 7 Jailbreak Tweak „Controllers for All“ für den Anschluss eines DualShock 3 Playstation Controllers an iPad oder iPhone setzt natürlich einen iOS 7 Jailbreak voraus. Zudem ist noch ein wenig Handarbeit notwendig um den Controller als iPhone oder iPad Gamepad einsetzen zu können. Mit dem Tool SixPair, das für Mac OS X, Windows und Linux erhältlich ist (siehe Pairing Anleitung), muss vor der Nutzung einmalig das Gamepad über den Computer mit dem iPhone oder iPad gekoppelt und gepaired werden. Danach ist die Nutzung des Playstation PS3 Controllers ohne weitere Aktionen möglicht.

Controllers for All steht im ModMyi Repository für 2 US-Dollar zum Download bereit. Aktuell wird nur der DualShock 3 Controller unterstützt, zukünftig sollen jedoch weitere Gamepads beliebter Spielekonsolen folgen. Nachfolgend noch das Video des Entwicklers sowie die Anleitung für das Pairing!

Mac OS X:

1. Download SixPair
2. Connect both your PS3 controller and your iOS device to your Mac
3. Click the Pair controller button
4. Disconnect your controller.
5. Done!

Windows:

1. Download and install SixaxisPairTool
2. Connect both your iOS device and PS3 controller to your Windows computer
3. Run SixaxisPairTool and insert your iOS device Bluetooth address (you can find it in Settings > General > About > Bluetooth)
4. Click Update and disconnect your controller.
5. Done!

Linux:

1. Download and compile sixpair
2. Connect both your iOS device and PS3 controller to your linux PC
3. Run sixpair and give it your iOS device Bluetooth address as the first CLI parameter
4. Disconnect the controller
5. Done!
