Die Rückkehr des alten WhatsApp Status auf das Apple iPhone scheint nur auf Geräten ohne iOS Jailbreak zu funktionieren. Während der alte WhatsApp Status serverseitig bei iPhone Nutzern ausschließlich für die aktuelle iOS WhatsApp beta aktiviert wurde, scheint dies offensichtlich auf einem iPhone mit Jailbreak nicht zu funktionieren. Ob die Nutzung des alten WhatsApp Status mit dem kommenden offiziellen Release der nächsten WhatsApp Version für das Apple iPhone ebenfalls ausschließlich Geräten ohne Jailbreak vorbehalten bleibt ist aktuell noch nicht bekannt.
Information about the old Status on iOS:
Since some hours, WhatsApp is remotely sending from the server the activation of the old Status on WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.10.390.
I noticed this but I saw that the old Status wasn’t enabled yet, so something of strange was happening.
After many attempts and checks, I finally understood what is happening: the old Status is enabled for unjailbroken users only.
So, to verify if I was right, I tried this procedure:
- I uninstalled WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.10.390, installed using AppSync (so it worked in Jailbroken mode only).
- I rebooted my iPhone, so it was unjailbroken.
- I downloaded WhatsApp beta again and I installed it on my iPhone using Cydia Impactor, so in unjailbroken mode.
And what did I see? The old status was enabled!
So, I can ensure you that the old Status is enabled by default ONLY if you install WhatsApp beta using Cydia Impactor and your iPhone is in unjailbroken mode.
Nachdem trotz aktueller WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.17.10.390 der alte Status nicht wieder aktiviert wurde scheint tatsächlich der iOS Jailbreak an der Nicht-Aktivierung schuld zu sein. Falls ihr also WhatsApp Beta-Tester seid und gleichzeitig einen Jailbreak nutzt: dieser scheint die Reaktivierung des alten Status zu verhindern.
Android Nutzer können seit heute morgen eine WhatsApp Beta Version im Google Play Store herunterladen, die den alten WhatsApp Status wieder reaktiviert.
