Der iPhone Unlock per IMEI-Unlocking via Webservice scheint nun vollends vorbei zu sein. Auch Cutyoursim hat das iPhone Unlock Angebot nun eingestellt. Immer noch ist unklar – wie genau der Unlock umgesetzt wurde, selbst Cutyoursim kennt das genaue Vorgehen nicht. Spekulationen zufolge soll Apple dem iPhone IMEI Unlocking einen Riegel vorgeschoben haben.
Nach dem Unlock Anbieter SuperPaddyNL hat nun auch cutyoursim den Unlock Service eingestellt. Ein Vertreter von Cutyoursim hat gegenüber CultofMac.com bestätigt, dass aktuell keine iPhone Unlocks möglich sind. Ob der Unlock Service noch einmal verfügbar sein wird ist ungewiss:
Unfortunately, we were not able to complete the rest of the unlocks waiting in our queue due to our suppliers being unable to offer the service anymore […] Our suppliers have told us that there is a possibility that the service may return, but they do not know when, so we have decided to start processing refunds for any orders that we were not able to complete.
Liegengebliebene bereits bezahlte iPhone Unlock Aufträge sollen demnach an die Kunden zurückerstattet werden. Selbst Cutyoursim kennt den eigentlichen Anbieter des iPhone Unlocks nicht:
[…] our supplier told us there were server issues, then after that they just told us that they will not be offering the service anymore. We are not sure where the service comes from, […] We do know that the service is performed in the UK, but that’s about it.
Absolut ungeklärt ist ebenfalls, was für das schnelle Ende des iPhone Unlock Service gesorgt hat. Vermutungen gehen zu einem Eingreifen durch Apple oder schlicht der Entlassung des Mitarbeiters bei dem UK-Provider, der Zugang zu den Apple Unlock-Datenbanken hatte.
Da einige von Euch wohl den kostenpflichtigen iPhone Unlock Service per IMEI für ca. 130 EUR in Anspruch genommen haben, interessiert uns natürlich, inwieweit das bei Euch geklappt hat. Gerne dürft ihr auch Eure Erfahrungen in den Kommentaren hinterlassen.
