Per iOS 5 Jailbreak können dem iPhone viele neue Funktionen spendiert werden. Doch mit Apple iBooks verträgt sich der Jailbreak von iOS 5 nicht. Abhilfe kann nur ein Fix für iBooks schaffen – der aber leider aktuell noch nicht verfügbar ist. Im Moment heißt es also: Apple iBooks ODER iOS 5 Jailbreak.
Na toll – ab heute findet sich die Steve Jobs Biografie im iBookstore, doch wer einen iOS 5 Jailbreak mit redsn0w oder Sn0wbreeze durchgeführt hat sieht die iBooks App nur kurz (bevor sie sich sofort wieder schließt).
Ein Workaround gibt es noch nicht, allerdings kommt vom Sn0wbreeze Entwickler iH8sn0w ein erstes Video das beweist: per Fix könnte Apple iBooks trotz Jailbreak lauffähig gemacht werden!
Allerdings wird iH8sn0w den iBooks Fix vorerst nicht veröffentlichen:

The issue was dealing with how redsn0w/sn0wbreeze did sandbox patches in the kernel. For those that don’t know, sandbox is a security measure that is used to ensure applications such as Safari don’t have access to personal information or system files.
This isn’t a stable fix. So I wouldn’t expect a fix from me.
