Am 27. März 2018 findet ein Education Event von Apple in Chicago statt, zu dem Apple allem Anschein nach auch ein neues Apple iPad mitbringen wird. Dies berichtet zumindest Mark Gurman von Bloomberg News – dieser gilt als gut vernetzt.
Apple iPad: Günstigeres Modell vor Release
Bei dem neu vorgestellten iPad-Modell soll es sich um ein günstigeres Gerät handeln, also nicht um die neuen iPad-Pro-Modelle. Vermutlich steht der günstige Preis in Verbindung mit dem Bildungsthema des Events. Ein neues MacBook Air zum kleineren Preis sei dagegen nicht für das Event zu erwarten (via Bloomberg):
A new, cheaper MacBook laptop is in the works and likely destined to replace the MacBook Air at a price less than $1,000, but it probably won’t be ready in time for next week, the people said. The MacBook Air, introduced about a decade ago, hasn’t seen a major change since 2010, the same year the iPad came out. Although the laptop is popular with college students, it has languished as Apple focuses on more expensive Macs.

Dementsprechend scheint das neue MacBook erst später vorgestellt zu werden, wenngleich nicht bekannt ist, wann dies der Fall sein soll. Womöglich zur WWDC 2018, denn zu dieser werden zumindest das iPad Pro 10.5 (2018) sowie das iPad Pro 12.9 (2018) erwartet.
