CutYourSim dürfte so machem Unlock Freund noch etwas sagen. Gegen eine Gebühr konnte das iPhone permanent entsperrt werden – durch Eintrag der IMEI in eine Whitelist. Jetzt scheint CutYourSim eine neue Lücke gefunden zu haben, um AT&T gelockte iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, 3GS & 3G dauerhaft zu entsperren. Allerdings nicht billig: der permanente IMEI Unlock kostet 199 Dollar!
Wer aktuell auf die CutYourSim.com Homepage kommt, wir von einem „Account suspended“ (Konto gesperrt) begrüßt, ob hier schon ein Riegel gegen den IMEI Unlock vorgeschoben wurde oder ob einfach zuviel Traffic auf ihrem Server generiert wurde bleibt unklar.
Fakt ist – für 199 US Dollar konnten jetzt auch iPhone 4S User die Netzsperre aufheben – für immer. Doch wie funktioniert das Ganze?
Der iPhone Unlock geschieht per Eintrag der IMEI in eine Whitelist bei Apple. Wenn also iTunes den Apple Server nach dem Unlock fragt bekommt er NACH dem IMEI Unlock die Antwort „kein Netlock/ kein SIM-Lock“. Dies funktionierte bei CutYourSim recht gut in der Vergangenheit – bis Apple dem Dienst einen Riegel vorschob!

Wir sind gespannt, wielange Apple diesmal braucht um die „Lücke“ für den Unlock zu finden und diese zu schließen (vermutlich reicht die Kündigung eines Mitarbeiters). Völlig legal ist die ganze Sache definitiv nicht – und 200 Dollar sind für einen Unlock schon ne Dicke Stange Geld!
