Download des PwnageTool 4.2 zum untethered 4.2.1 Jailbreak mit Custom Firmware und Baseband Schutz (für iPhone Unlock) steht bereit. Das iPhone Dev-Team hat das Jailbreak Tool für Mac OS X jetzt zum Download freigegeben. In PwnageTool 4.2 wird Limera1n für den iOS 4.2.1 Jailbreak verwendet. Der Greenpois0n Exploit ermöglicht den untethered Jailbreak der CFW (Custom Firmware).
Interessant ist der Download des PwnageTool 4.2 vor allem für Unlocker. Mit dem eingebauten Baseband Update Schutz ermöglicht PwnageTool 4.2 nun auch für iPhone 3GS und iPhone 3G das Update auf iOS 4.2.1 inklusive untethered 4.2.1 Jailbreak ohne das Baseband upzudaten. Für iPhone 4 User stand die Baseband Protection ja bereits mit TinyUmbrella bereit (wird aber natürlich auch in PwnageTool 4.2 unterstützt)
PwnageTool 4.2 unterstützt folgende iDevice: iPhone3G, iPhone3GS, iPhone4, iPhone4-Verizon, iPod touch 3G, iPod touch 4G, iPad und das AppleTV 2G.

PwnageTool 4.2 ist aber kein Unlock Tool – wer bereits ein Baseband Update auf ein Baseband vollzogen hat, für das es keinen iPhone Unlock gibt, kommt auch mit PwnageTool nicht weiter. Wenn ihr aber ein Baseband installiert habt, für welches es einen Ultrasn0w Unlock gibt, dann könnt ihr dieses Baseband inklusive Unlock einfach in iOS 4.2.1 mitnehmen.
