pod2g: iPad 2 Jailbreak & iPhone 4S Jailbreak erst mit iOS 5.1 ?

Der iPhone 4S Jailbreak bzw. iPad 2 Jailbreak unter iOS 5.0.1 steht bei pod2g jetzt ganz oben auf der ToDo-Liste! Während pod2g die Arbeit am untethered iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak für iOS 5 Geräte ohne Apple A5 Prozessor an das Chronic Dev-Team abgegeben hat (siehe Greenpois0n iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak) will er sich auf die Fertigstellung des iPad 2 Jailbreak bzw. iPhone 4S Jailbreak konzentrieren.

Im seinem Blog nimmt pod2g Stellung zum aktuellen Status:

I read the comments on the blog, and I know that a lot of people are waiting for the A5 jailbreak.

Hierbei dürfte er recht haben ;) viele iPhone 4S und iPad 2 User warten auf den Jailbreak!

Also, I know there are tons of people out there with A4 or even earlier devices who wants the untether now and don’t care about it could be interesting to wait A5 is finished to release or even 5.1, so that we don’t waste an exploit that took me months to find and develop.

Was pod2g hier anschneidet fällt uns auch hier beim apfeleimer immer wieder auf! Viele Jailbreaker verstehen einfach nicht, dass ein Jailbreak nicht einfach so aus dem Himmel fällt sondern wirklich viele Stunden, Tage & vielleicht Monate harter Arbeit dahintersteckt. Vor allem ein Userland Jailbreak wie der kommende untethered iOS 5.0.1 Jailbreak kann von Apple ohne Hardware-Änderungen mit ein paar Zeilen Code in iOS gestopft werden.

Apple wird also nach einem Release des Jailbreaks für iPhone 4S & iPad 2 den Exploit mit Sicherheit in der darauffolgenden Version iOS Version schließen. Somit ist ab dann kein Jailbreak – also überhaupt kein Jailbreak mehr – von A5 Devices auf neueren iOS Versionen möglich!

I need to focus on A5 and hope I can find a path quick, and I have the feeling that chronic-dev could help me.

So, here is what I did:
– I gave all the details to the chronic dev team so that they can finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jb ASAP.
– I’ll put all my energy from now on on the A5
