iPad 2 Jailbreak: wurde der Exploit an Apple verraten?

Apple hat mit dem Release von iOS 4.3.1 den iPad 2 Jailbreak verhindert! Die Schwachstelle, die für den iPad 2 Jailbreak von @comex verwendet werden sollte ist nun geschlossen. Doch nun kocht die Gerüchteküche auf: Wurde der iPad 2 Jailbreak an Apple verraten? Und falls ja, von wem? Wo ist die Schwachstelle in der Jailbreak Szene?

Gleich nach der Feststellung, dass der iPad 2 Jailbreak in iOS 4.3.1 nicht mehr funktioniert, hat @comex seine Verschwörungstheorie per Twitter zum Ausdruck gebracht:

Auch @musclenerd steht dem kurzfristigen Patch der Sicherheitslücke, die zum iPad 2 Jailbreak verwendet werden sollte, skeptisch gegenüber und weist Anschuldigungen von sich, das iPhone Dev-Team habe den iPad 2 Jailbreak an Apple weitergegeben- das iPhone Dev-Team hatte nämlich keinen Einblick in comex Jailbreak für das iPad 2!

Er bezieht sich hier auf einen Artikel im BoyGeniusReport – dort war vor dem offiziellen Release von iOS 4.3.1 schon die Ankündigung aus „sicheren Apple-Quellen“ zu lesen, Apple habe mit iOS 4.3.1 das iPad 2 Jailbreak Loch gestopft:

• Baseband updates for the 3GS and iPad (original)
• Fixed memory hang that results in memory corruption when reading large files from USIM filesystem
• Fixed problem with NTLM authentication in apps and on websites
• Fixed issue with the Springboard and 3rd party apps not recgonizing the gyroscope on the iPad 2
• Fixed iPad 2 jailbreak vulneratbility

Wie konnte das BoyGeniusReport bzw. Apple schon im Voraus wissen, dass es mit dem Patch dieser Lücke den iPad 2 Jailbreak verhindert?

Wir sind gespannt, welche Auswirkungen dies noch auf die Hacker-Szene hat. Gibt es wirklich eine Schwachstelle bei den Jailbreak Hackern, die Apple mit den neuesten Entwicklungen aus der Jailbreak Szene versorgt um zukünftige Jailbreaks vorzubeugen?
